Sword Art Online is both an anime and a magna. In it 10,000 people become trapped in the largest and most realistic MMO of all time. It is commonly nicknamed The World of Swords, due to the combat system nvolving weapons like swords, axes, and spears. The creator of the game, Kayaba Akihiko, chose to trap the 10,000 in the game. All of the trapped are wearing Nervegear to log them in, but a deadly twist has emerged. If any of them are killed in game, or their family members try to remove the Nervegear, the player will die in the real world. The only way for them to escape, is to defeatthe boss on the top floor of Aincrad. The main characters, Kirito and Asuna, are two of the players attempting to clear the game. In the process, they fall in love.
